Tosoh America, Inc. serves as the parent and holding company to the 6 US subsidiaries of Tosoh Corporation and provides Human Resources, Financial/Accounting, and Information Technology support services to the North American companies collectively known as Tosoh Group America. 

Our group of companies are engaged in advanced technology fields ranging from the manufacture and sale of semiconductor and solar materials, to the sale of medical diagnostic instruments, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and bio-separation media, and a wide range of other chemicals and advanced materials. These operations encompass manufacturing, distribution and sales, regulatory and technical support as well as equipment servicing, serving customers in the IT and high-tech, chemical, pharmaceutical and medical industries.

 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the proper accounting functions and procedures related to Tosoh America, Inc. or Tosoh USA including but not limited to supervising AR and AP, Cost, Audit, Inventory Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliation, Fixed Assets management, General Ledger, Sales Reporting and Financial Statement preparation.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Division Controller.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and meet critical deadlines. Review with senior management and address questions.
  • Perform the month-end closing, analyze account balances and activities and reconcile balances to the general ledger.
  • Supervise AR group with Sales order releases, invoice creation, cash application, work with all business' sales order, monitor/manage outstanding A/R and/or collections.
  • Supervise AP group with invoice processing, weekly vendor payments, vendor account maintenance and employee expense reimbursement.
  • Assist other Tosoh subsidiaries with their questions and requests.
  • Assist company management in audits. May coordinate related documentation for external auditors and act as a contact point during the audit process.
  • Manage Fixed Assets by providing invoice copies and all necessary information to the Tax Manager; review FAS reports provided by the Tax Manager, record the depreciation journal entries and reconcile the reports to the general ledger.
  • Document financial transactions by entering journal vouchers, both recurring and non-recurring.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and BS reconciliations.
  • Process month-end accruals.
  • Build forecast and/or budget for assigned company.
  • Ensure all intercompany transactions are recorded properly and reconciled.
  • Work with local consultant's tax and other required company requirements.
  • Monitor monthly inventory processing; manage the month end inventory reconciliation process including running various reports, reconciling activity between SAGE and the warehouses, resolving discrepancies and communications of the results to the Customer Service personnel and to the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance.
  • Manage Concur with employee account maintenance, problem solving, employee expense analysis and expense reporting.
  • Perform other work duties as directed by management.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

CPA or MBA a plus.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ year's general ledger accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting processes and the ability to quickly understand how those processes are processed within the Tosoh business structure.
  • Able to build financial statements- income statements, balance sheets and cashflow.
