HPLC Experiments & Product Development

  • Acquire a thorough knowledge about Tosoh analytical chromatography columns and other Tosoh product lines.
  • Develop reliable and robust HPLC/UHPLC methods to improve the separation and characterization of various samples submitted by our customers
  • Adhere to applications project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Using sound statistical methodology to design and execute HPLC/UHPLC experiments and analyze corresponding data.
  • Deliver projects and corresponding deliverables according to deadlines and keep Applications Group Manager updated regarding progress.
  • Support the Application Group Manager in application development efforts associated with new product development and provide findings, recommendations, and feedback to R&D team.
  • Assist in analytical product development by recommending new product designs.
  • Remain current on industry trends and innovations related to analytical chromatography columns.
  • Conduct competitive analysis by comparing competitor products to equivalents from Tosoh Bioscience product portfolio.
  • Abide by laboratory safety policies and procedures.


Generate and Present Technical Documentation

  • Contribute to the marketing collateral by authoring application notes, technical reports, and peer reviewed journal articles.
  • Conduct poster presentation and oral presentations at scientific conferences.
  • Support Sales and Marketing team for generating application notes, white papers and peer reviewed journal articles.
  • Support the sales and marketing team by participating in trade shows, seminar and technical symposia.
  • Conduct literature searches and plan further experiments to support Tosoh products.


Technical Support

  • Assist Technical Service Specialists in providing support on troubleshooting issues reported by customers by phone/email.
  • Provide customer training in the form of hands-on laboratory sessions such as in-house workshop, lectures, webinars, and individual consultation.
  • Accompany the commercial team on sales calls to provide technical and applications assistance in response to customers' inquiries as required.


  • Strict adherence to laboratory safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.




  • Master's or Ph.D degree in biochemistry, biology, or a related field. 
  • Bachelors degree will be considered with relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience with analytical chemistry and method development, particularly using HPLC/UHPLC chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Extensive knowledge of chromatography analysis software (Agilent Chemstation, Thermo Fisher Ultimate UHPLC Chromeleon software, Waters Empower).
  • Extensive knowledge of chromatography theory ability to perform method development and basic troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of chromatography base resins.
  • Understanding and ability to perform basic statically analysis.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of HPLC/UHPLC instruments.
  • Demonstrated experience performing project-based laboratory tasks including the ability to multi-task and run projects in parallel.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual who can work independently as a vital member of the technical service group.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  • The ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
